One of the feeds I subscribe to made a mention of a system called Getting Things Done, which is based on a book by the same name. I did a bit of reading, and ended up borrowing the book from a coworker.
GTD, as it’s called on the ‘net, is a personal organization system. […]

Whenever people find out I’m writing a book, I’m always asked how it all works. Now that I’m almost done, I’ll take some time to write it out.
The first step is to get a proposal accepted. The first time I tried this I worked with an agent from Studio B. He had […]

Been spending all my free time working on the book. Turned in the last content chapter earlier in the week, which leaves me with two practice tests and the appendices to write.
The appendices won’t be hard, I’m almost done them. But practice questions annoy me, especially when I’ve got 120 to do.

I’m not sure why a lot of people are jumping on the bandwagon about the word “scalable”. I read another article the other day that said it simply means “it can grow”. This is far from the truth.

Google has announced they’ll respect “rel=nofollow” in links, meaning that they won’t follow them or assign PR to any link with this tag. I’ve added the nofollow plugin to Movable type, hopefully it works!

Even Spybot couldn’t get rid of this one. I finally found these instructions […]

I’ve recently added a bunch of new sites to my RSS reader, some of which I think are worth sharing.
SANS Internet Storm Center - Every day there is a diary entry about the analysis going on, ie what trends in attacks are being seen.
Ask Dave Taylor - Well known author answers a question or two […]

On my way to work this morning it dawned upon me that 5 years ago today we were in an IT boom, and the Y2K bug was about to destroy the world. I was fairly new at my job, and had a pager strapped just in case the whole IT staff had to be […]

Wintery whiteout: Blizzard blankets highways, taxes CAA
The snow in my back yard was so high this morning, let’s just say my guys were chilly. Busses were stopping in the street to pick up passengers. The airport is closed. Part of our office is closed. Busses are getting stuck.
Anyone need a network […]
